My 25 SOL ORE mining experiment is over. TLDR of my experience: 1. Started with 2 SOL, fat fingered it immediately on 2 tiles. (learning tax, not included in this analysis) 2. Swapped my $MET airdrop to $SOL -> 25 SOL to play with. 3. Tried automining, made about 12 $ORE in the first 24 hours by spending about 7.5 $SOL. This was *just* above break-even. 4. Last night I adapted @0xScotchPilgrim's script to auto-select EV tiles, his script shows which tiles are best based on the delta between tiles (people in a tile, protocol fees, and amount in a tile) 5. This worked incredibly well last night as there were a LOT of gamblers playing so there were high deltas (some tiles being 0.7 SOL per tile while others were 0.3 SOL) 6. Last night I was up by about 12 SOL ($2,220 in two days). 7. I tried the script again today, started off well and increased my profit to ~14 SOL in unclaimed $ORE. 8. My adaptation of the script auto-selects tiles within 120% of the highest EV tile in terms of SOL amount, so, if the highest +EV tile has 1 SOL in it, the script will select all the tiles up to 1.2 SOL. Last night it performed so well that I thought I was cheating. 9. However, it was just the odds and I had a good luck streak. 10. It worked well when there were a lot of gamblers because there were higher payouts when it hit. (arbing the apes) 11. It did NOT work so well when there were not a lot of gamblers and mostly all-tile auto-miners. Lots of misses, lost about 7 SOL from my profit in 2 hours. After this morning's mining session (miss after miss), here's the stats on my 25 SOL mining experience: Started with: 25 SOL ($4,625) Ended with: 0.2 SOL 39.16714060205 unrefined $ORE ($5,030.62 USD unclaimed) 0.27795746427 refined $ORE ($35.70) Rounds Played: 1186, with 1058 won (statistically doesn't matter though because some were auto and some were manual, most of the losses came from the auto rounds.) My goal with this was to maximize my unrefined ORE in this period to claim the refined ORE yield — since you cannot actually buy unrefined ORE, I needed to mine it. Had I stopped last night I would be ~10 SOL in profit (36 ORE + 12 SOL) But alas, I did not, so, at current prices I am ~$450 in profit before refinement for ~2 days of mining. HOWEVER. This profit is before the 10% refinement fee — which would technically put me at a ~$50 loss at current ORE/SOL prices. As I don't plan on refining for a very long time, I am happy with my mining and learning session. gmOre, I am incredibly ORE pilled despite my bad luck this this morning. 🫡
