What is a futures grid?

The futures grid strategy is an automated strategy for trade futures by buying and selling low in a specific price range. Customers only need to set the ATH and all-time low in the range, determine the number of grids to be subdivided, and then start running the strategy. The strategy will calculate the price of buying low and selling high for each small grid, automatically pending orders, and earning returns from fluctuations as the marketplace fluctuates.

The platform currently supports USDT futures in all currencies, as well as USDC futures and coin-based futures in some currencies.

How do I determine when to use a futures grid?

A futures grid is designed for volatile arbitrage. You can consider using a futures grid when you anticipate long-term market fluctuations within a certain price range.

  • Manual creation

FAQ

1. If my futures grid is already profitable, will increasing my investment lead to higher profits?

Increasing the investment after a futures grid strategy becomes profitable will not affect your existing profits. However, it will affect future positions. As position sizes increase, both potential profits and losses will also increase.

2. How much of my total funds are used when a futures grid opens a position?

By default, all funds are used to open positions. If you enable Automatically reserve margin, the strategy will reserve part of the funds to help reduce liquidation risk and support stable strategy operation. If this option is disabled, you can manually set the margin amount, but this may increase the risk of liquidation.

Important note:

  • Stop-loss (SL) risk: If the market price moves beyond the upper or lower limits of the grid range, the strategy will stop operating. If the price continues to move in one direction without returning to the grid range, open positions may incur floating losses or face liquidation risk. It is recommended to set a reasonable stop-loss price.

  • Trading account risk: Funds invested in a futures grid strategy are isolated from your trading account. Please be aware that changes in your trading account assets may still affect overall liquidation risk.

  • Abnormal situation: If the underlying asset is suspended, delisted, or encounters other unexpected issues during strategy execution, the futures grid strategy will automatically stop.

  • At your own risk: Please read the OKX futures grid product description carefully and assess your risk tolerance before trading and make rational investment decisions.
